Ms. Koncurat was born and raised in Bel Air, Maryland, where she grew up doing choir, learning piano, taking French, and performing in tons of musicals alongside her parents and 5 siblings. This year, Ms. Koncurat will be teaching Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Heritage Spanish, and Study Skills. She started learning Spanish in Mexico City in 2018, but primarily picked it up as she worked with Spanish- speaking immigrants in Washington state, went on a study abroad in Mérida, México, and took classes at BYU. In 2023, Ms. Koncurat graduated from BYU with her bachelor's degree in Spanish Teaching and a minor in Theatre Art Studies. In 2025, she graduated with her master's degree Hispanic Linguistics. She loves how language learning allows you to connect with and learn from people you might not otherwise meet, and she is so excited to be teaching Spanish at SFJH. In her free time, Ms. Koncurat loves singing, playing instruments, traveling, reading, playing board games, listening to music, and spending time with her friends!
